Look, dude - I know my there/their/they’re and my you’re/yours, so don’t get at me. I’m sure RTL and crew did too, and it was just a typo.

We kicked things off by talking the three greatest guitar solos in the history of punk.

Thanks to Bedge for sharing this pic of him shredding in his early 20’s for the Youtubes. Can you think of any punk solos that beat these? Get at me with the song and time stamp. Onto the newerish tunes:

Crashing Forward put out an 12” on Indecision Records that channels a sound that is post-youth crew/pre-Firestorm. Maybe it sounds a bit like if 411 met Swiz at the Che Cafe. Super cool record from super cool dudes.

Echo Chamber returned with 2 new songs following up their stellar demo from 2022. It’s available on cassette here. These dudes do 90’s NYHC better than pretty much anyone going right now.

Vancouver’s Chain Whip put out a killer 12” in 2021, and now they’re back with a beefy LP that brings the heat front to back. Think Government Warning meets Nerve Agents, or just slam to the tunes and don’t think, bro.

And now we travel to the promised land: Melbourne, Australia. This city has birthed some of my favorite releases in the last couple years, and now Leatherman drops two songs of equally infectious awesomeness. The singer and the shredder duel to see who can lay down the catchier shit and we all win.

Holy shit, just when I thought Street Sweeper was a lock for my favorite 7” of the year, these wildmen known as Rifle drop Under Two Flags. This kicks so much ass and reminds me of a mashup between Easy Action, Bootlicker, and early Dillinger Four. My pact to never buy another 7” fails again!
